Schengen 90/180 Day Calculator

Know your days used, your days left, and your real last legal day in Europe.

Most Schengen calculators just subtract days from 90. But the 90/180 rule is rolling: old days keep dropping out of the window while you stay. This spreadsheet checks every single day, so it shows both how many days you have left AND the last day you can legally stay.

WHAT IT DOES

• DASHBOARD: days used, days left, a status banner (OK / CAUTION / OVERSTAY), your last legal day, a chart of the next 180 days, and when days come back.
• TRIP LOG: one row per stay, up to 300 trips. Past, current and planned trips. Still there? Leave the exit date empty.
• TRIP PLANNER: type an entry date and trip length. Get YES, NO or MANUAL CHECK REQUIRED, the first overstay day, the most days you can stay, and the earliest date you can go.
• PASSPORT AND VISA CHECKS: passport valid 3 months after exit, passport issued in the last 10 years, visa valid dates, days left on the visa sticker, entries left on the visa.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Setup: add your passport dates and pick visa-free or short-stay visa. Two minutes, once.
2. Trip Log: type entry date, exit date and country for each stay.
3. Dashboard and Planner: see where you stand and test the next trip before you book it.

PLEASE READ: IMPORTANT LIMITS

• A calculator is a helping tool. It does not give you a right to stay. Border officers and the EES record decide. This is not legal advice.
• Not for EU, EEA or Swiss citizens, residence permits or national long-stay (type D) visas. If you choose that option in Setup, the sheet shows NOT COVERED.
• Visa holders: fill in the visa sticker details in Setup. The 90/180 rule alone does not check the days and dates on your visa. On single and double entry visas the sticker days are a total for the whole visa. On long multiple-entry visas they mean per 180 days, which the 90/180 check already covers. If details are missing or the case is unusual, the Planner says MANUAL CHECK REQUIRED instead of YES.
• Some nationalities (for example US, Canada, New Zealand) may get extra days in certain countries under old bilateral agreements. This sheet does not add them, so its results are cautious for you.
• Some nationalities follow an older counting method under special visa-waiver agreements. If that is you, do not rely on this sheet. Check the current rules.
• Not checked: entry conditions (funds, insurance, purpose of stay), ETIAS or other travel authorisations.
• For important trips, compare with the official European Commission short-stay calculator.

FAQ Does a quick trip to the UK or Ireland reset my days? No. Days only drop out of the window once they are more than 180 days old. Staying away for 90 days in a row always gives you a fresh 90.

Which countries count? The 29 Schengen states, plus Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City in practice. Ireland, Cyprus, Andorra and the UK are outside Schengen: do not log them.

Can I use it on my phone? It is designed for a computer screen. The Excel and Google Sheets mobile apps can open it, but the layout is made for a larger display.

Do I need internet? Not in Excel. Google Sheets needs a connection.
